For pedestrians the park is in easy reach of several large housing areas and is about 1.75km (1 mile) north east of the pier via the seafront promenade. Large sections of the promenade also form part of the national cycle network (route 21). Cyclists can use this if coming from several areas within Eastbourne but wider links also connect with the Cuckoo Trail to the north and Hastings.
Several bus companies serve the roads around the park including Eastbourne Buses, Lighthouse Line and Stagecoach. There are frequent buses connecting with rail services in the town centre.
The nearest railway station is Eastbourne's in the town centre. Regular train services connect with Brighton, Hastings and London seven days a week. On foot to and from the station the easiest route is to use the seafront promenade and Terminus Road. The distance is approximately 2.75 km (1.75 miles).
During the season (usually Easter to the end of September) Dotto train services run the whole length of the seafront promenade. Stopping points are numerous and include the pier and adjacent to Princes Park. Timetables are posted at stops.
Arriving by car from the north, visitors should follow the A22 then turn left onto the A2290 to head towards Eastbourne seafront near Sovereign Leisure Pool. A right turn at the large roundabout here enters the seafront with Princes Park immediately on the right of the road. There is a large pay and display car park on the left by Fort Fun, although there is on street parking in the vicinity. Motorists arriving from Brighton or Hastings areas are likely to use the A259 and once in town should head for the seafront east of the pier.
